Set within a period property in Edinburgh, this project was designed as a bold yet welcoming space for both family and short-term guests. The brief combined clean, contemporary design with moments of colour and personality, while incorporating meaningful mid-century pieces passed down through the client’s family. A deep blue on the woodwork contrasts with soft neutral walls in the open-plan area, while the bedroom is wrapped in a warm plaster pink. During the renovation, original William Morris wallpaper was discovered beneath layers in the hallway, inspiring the use of House of Hackney wallpaper in the panelling to nod to the home’s heritage.
