Colour at Pilgrim’s Rest: A Feature by COAT Paints
We’re delighted to have Pilgrim’s Rest featured by COAT Paints, with a particular focus on the role of colour within this beautiful countryside home in Fife.
Colour was central to the design of Pilgrim’s Rest. Rather than using lots of contrasting shades, we created a soft, tonal palette that works beautifully with the natural light, warm materials and bespoke joinery throughout the home.
We worked with COAT Paints to introduce Nada in some spaces for added depth and warmth, while Just, Barely was used to create lighter, more airy rooms. Across the woodwork, Low Salt provides a subtle contrast that helps define the architectural details without taking away from the softness of the overall scheme.

This is something we consider carefully in every residential interior design project. Colour isn't simply about choosing a shade you like - it's about understanding how that colour will respond to the light, materials, architecture and way a room is used.
Thoughtful Colour for a Scottish Home
Set within the Fife countryside, Pilgrim’s Rest has beautiful views and plenty of natural light, so we wanted the interior palette to complement rather than compete with its surroundings.
The result is a calm, cohesive home where colour, texture, natural materials and joinery work together to create a relaxed and timeless interior.
